Are We There Yet?

We made it to the middle of week 11. Boredom and brain fatigue are starting to creep in. My training runs are not as fun as they were a few weeks ago. UGH I’m sticking as closely to the plan as I can muster but it’s been a struggle. I figure these ups and downs are normal. At the same time, I’m getting really excited for SeaWheeze which is a little over 2 weeks away. EEEP!

I skipped my recovery run last Sunday (end of week 9). Week 10, I ran on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday mornings.

Neon PC Runner socks and Hoka One One Clifton.

I took my new Hoka Clifton out for a spin. They were springy and super light. The sole is a little thicker than I’m used to which caused me to scuff the bottoms here and there. Not a big deal. I was just happy I didn’t trip and fall. I thought my PRO Compression neon PC Runner socks went well with the bright Hokas. 😀 By the way, if you’re looking for a good, low profile running sock, these are great. No slipping, sliding or disappearing into your shoe. PRO Compression also makes my favorite compression sleeve. I think I’ve posted about them before but they’re just so convenient to wear around with flip flops.

Friday, 7/24/15: 4 miles (45:59).

Early Friday morning. 4 miles.

I took a last minute day off and went over to my mom’s to help her with some bathroom updates she was having done. As payment, she made lunch. 😛 Korean dumpling soup or Su Je Bi. One of my favorite dishes of all time. Mouth scorching jalapeno slices are mandatory. YUM!

Faster than last Saturday! Weeeee!!!

Faster than last Saturday! Weeeee!!!

Saturday.

Saturday.

Saturday’s 9 miles came and went. Two miles in, I was a little skeptical about being able to finish. My right foot was still giving me grief and my head wasn’t in it. But somehow, I kept plugging along and telling myself to go another mile. It got easier once I hit the halfway point but overall not a good day. I was surprised to see that my time was about 8 minutes quicker than last Saturday. Unexpected for sure.

The remainder of my weekend was rest, relaxation, homemade guacamole and spending time with Jon. Boo had to get in his snuggle time too.

That’s all I’ve got this time around. The next time I post will most likely be RIGHT before SeaWheeze weekend! WOOOOO HOOOO!!! Let the madness begin!!!

Until next time, thanks for reading!
